The Newport #100
Circa 1790
Because this piece was built by one of our country's most prominent cabinetmakers, John Townsend, it is he who is credited with it as opposed to its clockmaker. It is said to be one of his most noteable works of cabinetmaking. This highly detailed clock with, all its hand carved features should be built in mahogony with a brass dial, but also looks wonderful in figured cherry.
Height 95”
