The Manatawny
Circa 1770
An early clock with wonderful proportion. Currently in the collection of a Montgomery County museum, the dial is unique in that it bears the name of the original owner instead of its maker Adam Brant. The highly styled Chippendale case has a dentiled swan neck pediment sitting upon fluted hood columns. Shown here in cherry, it is also available in walnut. A brass dial would be proper, but a painted dial would look fine.
